Le Monde Beryl

Le Monde Béryl was founded in 2016 by Lily Atherton Hanbury and Katya Shyfrin. Inspired by traditional Venetian gondolier slippers, ballet flats, and riding boots, the shoes are sustainably and handcrafted in Italy by masters using traditional techniques. They combine function, movement, and beauty, with a clear design language, minimal branding, and fine details.

The founders draw inspiration from art, architecture, sculpture, and design that endure over time, as well as colors from gemstones, which is also reflected in the brand's name. Production follows a minimal waste principle, inspired by the original Venetian slippers that were made from remnants of velvet, felt, and rubber. Each collection and collaboration has a classic expression, while allowing the wearer to express their own creativity.
