Jil Sander, The Queen of Less, opened her first store at the age of 24, where she sold well-known brands alongside her own designs, which she sewed on her mother's sewing machine. The brand was officially established in 1975, and her minimalist approach to fashion and style slowly but surely became known. Sander drew inspiration from menswear and minimalism to create an androgynous, simple, and timeless wardrobe. Her designs are also known for simple materials and sculptural, powerful cuts.
