Alaïa
Alaïa
“The king of cling” – Azzedine Alaïa was a Tunisian couturier and one of the most influential designers of our time. With a background as a tailor for Christian Dior and Thierry Mugler, among others, he made a name for himself in the 80s and became world-renowned for his feminine, sculptural, and tailor-made creations. Hailed by the fashion industry, loved by women worldwide, and worn by Grace Jones, Michelle Obama, Beyoncé, Victoria Beckham, Carine Roitfeld, Franca Sozzani, and not least the supermodel, Naomi Campbell, who considered Azzedine Alaïa a father figure.
Alaïa was founded in 1964, where his creations were often very tight-fitting and constructed to emphasize the female figure, and the palette was neutral. Today, Alaïa's codes are rephrased with precision, driven by innovation and craftsmanship, while preserving the house's essential purity.
A renewed language has emerged: faithful to Alaïa's spirit and driven by a unique vision of modern beauty.
